They Love To Shop – The Collins Triplets

Today is an extra special day because today is the day that the Collins Triplets were born.

Ettie, Ellen & Elaine

Ettie, Ellen, and Elaine are the Collins triplets, and they love to shop.  If you need gift suggestions, Ettie’s favorite store is Neiman Marcus, and she would probably love to have the Jimmy Choo Glenis Leather Gladiator Sandal ($995) coordinated with something from the Armani Collezioni ($355-$1140).  Ellen’s favorite store is Nordstrom, but we all know Ellen loves electronic gadgets.  She would probably love to have the Saeco Xelsis SS Automatic Espresso Machine, Stainless Steel ($2,993) which operates by fingerprint recognition.  Elaine, well, she’s a Tequila connoissuer, so I’m sure she would enjoy a bottle of Gran Patron Platinum ($250 per bottle), or better yet, how about a bottle of Ultra Premium Tequila Ley. 925 “Pasion Azteca”($225,000).

The Collins triplets are three very special ladies, and I wish them a very Happy Birthday.

A Great Christmas in St. Louis

I’m heading back to DC today. The time with my family is never long enough, but we’re going to spend more time together in 2012.

I’m at O’Hare airport in Chicago, waiting for my connecting flight to Baltimore. You know I love to shop, so I had to check out the merchandise at several airport shops.  One store had great accessories for electronics such as iPhones, iPads, and computers. Another store, Barbara’s Books, had a very appealing display of business/entrepreneurial books. I didn’t make any purchases because Amazon has everything I need.

Invest in yourself for 2012 with one of the Best Selling items or one or more of the Movers and Shakers at Amazon.

Wishing Everyone A Happy New Year!!

My Best Friend

I had lunch with my best friend today.  She took me to a great restaurant called The Fountain on Locust.  I had the most delicious Grand Chocolate Martini (made with homemade ice cream)  and a  Royale Grille (grilled cheese with turkey).

So, who’s my best friend?  Her name is Deborah Miller.  I call her Debbie.  We grew up together on Red Bud Avenue in St. Louis, MO and attended Northwest High School.  It’s been a while since Debbie and I have seen each other, but today was a real treat.  We caught up on everything.  We reminisced about Glenn (Debbie’s husband) taking us to school in his orange Volkswagen Beetle.  I loved that car!!!  We also reminisced about Debbie’s trip to DC to visit me while I was attending Howard University.  We talked about her two beautiful sons, Cory and Chris, and her grandson, Aiden.  Seems Cory and I have similar tastes for Rolex watches and luxury cars.  Debbie and I had a great time today.

So, start the new year right.  Reunite with your childhood best friend, visit The Fountain on Locust for excellent cuisine and fabulous ice cream martinis, click on Rolex watches and purchase a luxury watch for you or someone you love from Time and Gems, and start your own business, for an additional stream of income and tax advantage.

We Made It Through Christmas – Whew!!!

So, we made it through another Christmas.  There was snow on the ground when I woke up this morning.  I was dreaming of a white Christmas and a Platinum Rolex Day-Date II.  Hope you got everything you wished for.  I know some of you probably cut it kind of close, but you made it.  Whew!!!

What’s hot today?   The following items in our book category are best sellers and movers and shakers:  Art Wolfe, Travels to the Edge 2012 Wall Calendar, Steve Jobs, A Brief History of Thought: A Philosophical Guide to Living, Lone Wolf: A Novel, and Think and Grow Thin: The Revolutionary Diet and Weight-loss System That Will Change Your Life in 88 Days!.  Click on any of the Amazon banners or highlighted text for additional best sellers, movers and shakers, and year end deals.

I’m still in St. Louis with my Mom and brothers having a great time.  Had my favorite White Castle cheeseburgers today.  Love those White Castles.  I’ll be heading back to DC on Thursday morning, but I’ll always be here for your online shopping needs, because I Love To Shop.

Christmas Eve

Mom, Joani, Kelvin & Bill

We attended a great party at Jean Turner’s house last night. Something I like about Jean is that she loves to shop.   She’s always sharp when I see her, and her house is finely appointed.

My Mom, Kelvin, and I intended to go to the party for a short period of time, but ended up staying much longer.  Bill joined us a little later.   Everyone was required to bring $5 worth of lottery scratch-offs as a Secret Santa gift and also contribute $5, so everyone received at least a $5 gift.

Jean, Lynn (Jean’s daughter) and several others were busy in the kitchen preparing numerous goodies for dinner.  There was everything you could imagine to drink.  Conversation was flowing and photos were being snapped.  Everyone was having a wonderful time.  Dinner was served, and the seniors were seated at the dining room table.  Kelvin and I headed to the loft with our plates filled with buffalo chicken, cole slaw, potato salad, ham, pork roast, and chili. It was a great party and a great way to spend Christmas Eve.

Merry Christmas!!!

It’s Great To Be Home

I arrived in St. Louis at 9:10pm on Friday, Dec. 23, 2011.  When I walked around the corner to go to baggage claim I could see Kelvin and my Mom waiting for me.  Kelvin saw me first and started smiling.  When he raised his index finger acknowledging me, then my Mom saw me.  Wow, their smiles radiated so much love that it was amazing.  I finally reached them and their hugs were great.

Kelvin and I talked about business all the way home from the airport.  I was telling him about a great book I started reading on my flight.  The book is Get Rich Click! by Marc Ostrofsky and is available at Amazon.com in hardcover and for the Kindle.  He dropped Mom and me at home then he went to do his weekly hip hop broadcast on KDHX – 88.1 FM (Deep Krate Radio).  My Mom and I talked while I ate my favorite, Shrimp Fried Rice.  We finally came upstairs and I settled into my old room, the room I called mine from age 10 – 18.

After Kelvin finished at KDHX we stayed up til the we hours of the morning discussing affiliate marketing, paypal, Cufflinks.com, and a bunch of other business ideas.  I was amazed that Cufflinks.com is bringing in $5 million a year.  A success story you’ll find in Get Rich Click!

So, 2012 look out.  I’m on fire, Kelvin’s on fire, and we are going to make crazy revenue on the internet, and teach others how to create wealth.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

A Charlie Brown Christmas

Hallmark has created the most adorable recordable books.  A Charlie Brown Christmas is one of the recordable books. The other recordable Christmas books are The Night Before Christmas and Frosty The Snowman.  In an earlier blog I mention watching A Charlie Brown Christmas every year while growing up in St. Louis.  I also mentioned watching the show with my brothers, Kelvin and Bill.

Christmas 1967 - Joani, Kelvin, and Bill

So, here we are in 1967 watching A Charlie Brown Christmas.  I was 10 years old, Kelvin was 7 months old, and Bill was 7 years old.  We were young and excited about all the gifts that would be under the Christmas tree.

I purchased the Charlie Brown book for Kelvin, and recorded the story last night.  I had a great time making this gift very special.  I can’t wait to see Kelvin’s face when he hears my voice.

Online Holiday Shopping 2011

Are you familiar with these terms – Black Friday (the Friday after Thanksgiving), Cyber Monday (the Monday after Thanksgiving), Super Saturday (the Saturday in the last full weekend before Christmas)?  I’m just asking.  As a business owner, these terms are very important to me.  Especially Cyber Monday and Super Saturday.  Actually, everyday is important to me as a business owner because I’m always marketing.

According to comScore, U.S. consumers spent $6.3 billion during the week ending Dec. 18, and to date, consumers have spent approximately $32 billion online for holiday gifts.  Let me say it again, consumers have spent $32 billion online for holiday gifts.  I had a discussion with my students about affiliate marketing, and described it as an additional stream of income.  They were amazed when I started throwing out earning potential values.  For example, if you were doing online marketing during this holiday season and could have captured 1% of consumer spending, you would have made $320 million;  captured .01% of consumer spending – $3.2 million.  Some businesses spend the entire year gearing up for this holiday season.  Got any ideas for next year?  Wake up!!

It’s not too late to cash in on the online spending, since it’s predicted that consumers will spend $6 billion more through the end of December.

The Home Stretch

What’s today?  December 20, 2011.  Four shopping days left til Christmas.  Across the nation, Toys R Us opened at 6am this morning and will remain open  until 10pm on Christmas Eve, December 24th.  That’s 112 hours to do the last minute shopping for your little ones.  Just remember, Amazon.com has toys too, and you have until December 22nd to complete your online orders.

The Postal Service expects to deliver 16.5 billion letters, packages and cards between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve.  The busiest day for mailing this trove of holiday cheer is expected to be Tuesday, Dec. 20, when 801 million cards and letters will be processed – nearly double the average daily volume.

The busiest day for delivery of packages is a day earlier – Monday, Dec. 19.   I say avoid the lines, do your shopping online from home and let Amazon.com, Best Buy, Endless, or Links of London do the shipping for you.  Click on the banners and text on the right side of the screen and purchase the remaining items on your Holiday list.
