The Traits & Habits of Successful Bloggers

Kevin Muldoon – The Traits & Habits of Successful Bloggers

I just finished reading a great ebook by Kevin Muldoon titled The Traits & Habits of Successful Bloggers: What Separates the Best from the Rest.  I started reading Kevin’s book and couldn’t put it down until I had completed it.  Kevin’s ebook is not a technical guide, so don’t expect to find instructions on how to code or how to select a theme and build a blog using GoDaddy, Fat Cow, 1Page, bluehost, or any of the sites you’re familiar with.  Not going to happen.

What you will get from Kevin’s book is straight forward guidance on the characteristics exhibited by successful bloggers.  For example, if you treat your blog like a hobby, you’ll make hobby money.  Successful bloggers treat their blogs like a business, and get a greater return for the time invested.  Some of the chapters I found most helpful in Kevin’s book were Chapter 12 – They Understand The Benefits of Variety, Chapter 13 – They Plan Ahead, Chapter 17 – They Know When Something Isn’t Working, and Chapter 21 – They Love What They Do.

I’ve been blogging since 2011, and I want to better monetize my blogs.  Kevin is making a great living blogging.  That’s my goal as well, to have a profitable blog.  Listen to this.  In 2010 Kevin sold his former blog, BloggingTips.com for $60,000.  He sold WPMods.com for $80,000 in 2012.

If you want to be taken seriously as a blogger, you should definitely invest in a copy of The Traits & Habits of Successful Bloggers: What Separates the Best from the Rest.  The guidance Kevin provides is exceptionally helpful, and can be implemented immediately.  So, stop procrasting and invest in your copy today!!!

The Honorable Nancy Pelosi, 2012 Commencement Speaker at Trinity Washington University

The Honorable Nancy Pelosi, graduate of Trinity Washington University, class of 1962.  2012 marks the 50-year class reunion of the 1962 graduating class of Trinity Washington University.

How appropriate to have Nancy Pelosi deliver the commencement speech on Sunday, May 20, 2012.  It was a beautiful day for a graduation, and Trinity’s graduates were quite surprised to learn who was delivering the commencement speech.  Up until the last minute, they did not know who the commencement speaker was going to be.  As I walked toward campus, reading the program, I was overjoyed to see that The Honorable Nancy Pelosi had been chosen to address the Class of 2012.

Not only did she address the class, but she gave every graduate (464 graduates) a copy of her most recent book, Know Your Power: A Message to America’s Daughters.  Mrs. Pelosi believes all men and women are created equal, and that the sky really is the limit for our daughters and granddaughters.  Nancy Pelosi made history when she became the first woman Speaker of the House, and she continues to inspire women of all ages in Know Your Power: A Message to America’s Daughters.  She encourages women to never lose faith, to speak out and make their voices heard, to focus on what matters most, and to follow their dreams wherever they lead.

New Month – New Book

New Month – New Book

Happy March 1, 2012.  We have a new month, so we need to choose a new book. I’m selecting The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich (Expanded and Updated) by Timothy Ferriss.  Forget the old concept of retirement and the rest of the deferred-life plan–there is no need to wait and every reason not to, especially in unpredictable economic times. Whether your dream is escaping the rat race, experiencing high-end world travel, earning a monthly five-figure income with zero management, or just living more and working less, The 4-Hour Workweek is the blueprint.

This step-by-step guide to luxury lifestyle design teaches:
•   How Tim went from $40,000 per year and 80 hours per week to $40,000 per month and 4 hours per week
•  How to outsource your life to overseas virtual assistants for $5 per hour and do whatever you want
•  How blue-chip escape artists travel the world without quitting their jobs
•  How to eliminate 50% of your work in 48 hours using the principles of a forgotten Italian economist
•  How to trade a long-haul career for short work bursts and frequent “mini-retirements”

The new expanded edition of Tim Ferriss’ The 4-Hour Workweek includes:
•  More than 50 practical tips and case studies from readers (including families) who have doubled income, overcome common sticking points, and reinvented themselves using the original book as a starting point
•  Real-world templates you can copy for eliminating e-mail, negotiating with bosses and clients, or getting a private chef for less than $8 a meal
•  How Lifestyle Design principles can be suited to unpredictable economic times
•  The latest tools and tricks, as well as high-tech shortcuts, for living like a diplomat or millionaire without being either

A Great Christmas in St. Louis

I’m heading back to DC today. The time with my family is never long enough, but we’re going to spend more time together in 2012.

I’m at O’Hare airport in Chicago, waiting for my connecting flight to Baltimore. You know I love to shop, so I had to check out the merchandise at several airport shops.  One store had great accessories for electronics such as iPhones, iPads, and computers. Another store, Barbara’s Books, had a very appealing display of business/entrepreneurial books. I didn’t make any purchases because Amazon has everything I need.

Invest in yourself for 2012 with one of the Best Selling items or one or more of the Movers and Shakers at Amazon.

Wishing Everyone A Happy New Year!!
